Chiba Islamic Cultural Center (CICC) was the first building purchased and reformed as a Islamic Information and Da’wah Center in Chiba City, Japan. It contains 5 floors that compose Nishi Chiba Masjid as an Islamic house of worship for both men and women; CICC office and seminar room; Halal shop and restaurant with Islamic library. Nishi-Chiba is located on the west side of Chiba City which is located between Tokyo and Narita International airport. Nearest station is JR Nishi-Chiba station located at about 30 seconds from CICC on foot. The current population of Muslims around Chiba City only is estimated to be more than 140 people. One of the main reasons for this is due to the scholarship and study opportunities provided by the Japanese government and collaborations with foreign universities from Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Bangladesh, Egypt, and many other countries, which encourage foreign students to study in Japan. There are also some Muslims from foreign countries who come here for work or training programs. Additionally, mixed marriage between Muslims and Japanese also contributes to the Muslim population growth in Chiba.
Nishi-Chiba Masjid, under the care of CICC, is currently accepting donations.
